Welcome Thompson!

Ten days ago our family of three became a proud family of four, with the arrival of
Thompson Michael Aston!
Our sweet little boy was born January 21, 2011 at 4:44pm.
Thompson was 7lbs 12oz and 20.5in long.

Caroline seemed a little shell shocked at first but it wasn't long before we heard what has become her new favorite phases; "I need to hold that baby!" "My turn!" "I feed him!' "Gimme Thompson!" Because the princess always seems to get her way, most of our pictures look something like this...

Then there's this one...
(Scary, I know!)

We have had lots of visitors at the hospital to celebrate our little man!
Marc and Jennifer

Aunt Susu

Tiffiny, Taylor and Camille brought new baby Vivian to visit Thompson. Vivian was born two days before Thompson and weighed 9lbs 5oz.  Tiff is a rockstar!

Gigi fell in love!

Nonni and Papa were pretty taken with Thompson too!

Caroline loves Kristi

Brian Sax

Sara and Kelly came too!
Sara and Thompson share a birthday, only 30 years apart!

What a Proud Daddy!

Finally it was time to bring Thompson home!

Pregnant Together

It is so special to be pregnant with your friends!  I have been pregnant at the same time with several friends but Tiff and I actually were due one day apart!  It was so great to have someone to share the excitement and complaints with throughout our whole pregnancies.  Tiff and I have been best friends since brownies and have shared lots of great times together but nothing compares to the past nine months.  Tiffiny is on her way to the hospital now so I thought it would be a good time share our last pregnant picture together.  Good Luck Tiff, I love you!

A couple other pregnant BFF moments...
Michele and I were pregnant together at her baby shower.

Caroline is broken and Thompson is floating :(

So its been eight days and Caroline is still sick!  On top of her stomach virus she is now fighting a cold.  We have seen the doctor twice this week and she basically said Caroline is pitiful.  Her eyes are swollen and watering, her nose is running like a faucet, she has a fever and a cough that won't stop.

Yesterday was by far the worst day we have seen.  She kept telling me to hold the baby.  (She has started to referring to herself as "The Baby" and Thompson isn't even here yet!)  As I was holding her, she looked so sad and said, "Mommy, I broken."  Talk about the saddest thing you could hear out of your two year old!  She did not let me put her down until I had to go to my doctor's appointment and leave her with the sitter.  I cried as I pulled out of the neighborhood and then continued to call the sitter to see when she stopped crying.  I hate leaving a sick baby!

For those who don't know, I love my OBGyn, Dr. Ramos!  He is great and I recommend him to all my friends.  I go in for my appointment and he immediately tells me to pick a day next week and I can be induced.  Since I found out I was preggo, I have been begging him to not let me go to my due date and save me from those last miserable weeks.  I regretfully had to tell him he better check my cervix because I am pretty sure this baby is not ready to come.  Sure enough, he checked and couldn't believe how high Thompson is, he actually said he is FLOATING!  UGH!  Tomorrow I will be 39 weeks along and still pregnant.  Wednesday I go back to check on any progress and make sure the Thompson is doing okay.

Truthfully, its okay to have to wait on Thompson since I really need Caroline to get healthy before bringing home a new baby.

Quick side note; Brian no longer has diarrhea and when he did go back to work he was surprised to find his co-workers and even some of his clients had read my rather detailed blog... sorry Babe!

Not the adventure we were hoping for!

When I decided to start blogging I thought I would be writing about the cute things that are happening around our house, but it turns out the past few days have not been that cute! At 2am on Saturday morningt I woke up to "Help Mommy!" over the monitor. When I ran in, I found Caroline and her entire bed covered in vomit.  The poor baby threw up and dry heaved until 8:30am.  I spoke to the doctor on call and got a Rx that caused the vomiting to stop.

We knew she wasn't a 100% but she sure acted fine so at 6:30pm we put her in the car to grab a quick dinner.  We were not even out of the driveway when round two hit!  Why is it that cribs and car seats are so hard to wash?

She played all day on Sunday as if she had never been sick so we decided to venture out of the house and go see the 6:30 showing of Tangled, a movie I have been promising to take her to.  We bought our tickets and were standing in line at the concession stand when round three hit!  Brian tried to catch it on his shirt but of course it was everywhere!  So I rush her into the ladies room, where at least 5 old ladies gathered around her telling us how cute she is and not realizing I was dealing with a minor emergency.  UGH!  We left the movie theatre with Caroline most upset that she didn't get to see her movie.

On the way home Brian started moaning, it was an animal like noise he was making.  Brian continued moaning and having diarrhea throughout the night.  The moaning was so bad that the dogs were crying and Caroline was yelling, "Daddy, Kay?" Needless to say, Brian stayed home from work today and is still miserable.

This morning, I took Caroline to see her doctor who confirmed it is the stomach virus that is going around.  She said her family got it a couple months ago.  Her husband was home in bed for three days and when she thought it was over she ended up with it.  She said unfortunately is probably too late for me to escape it and it will most likely cause a DIARRHEA INDUCED LABOR!  I can't really think of a worse way to give birth than that, so lets hope this is not the case!

Caroline has acted like she felt fine all day. Even spent 30 minutes chasing Rita and Molly around the house spraying them with a can of Lysol.  She took a late nap and was sound asleep at 6pm when she started puking again!  It seems like 6pm is her witching hour!  I am washing the sheets in our room for the 3rd time and hoping not to have a DIARRHEA INDUCED LABOR!  Thats all for now...

Let's start blogging...

I have decided to start blogging so I don't forget these cute moments that Caroline shares with us everyday! We just celebrated Caroline's 2nd birthday! Honestly this has been the best two years of my life!  She is such a happy, healthy little girl and we couldn't love her more!  We had a Tutus and Ties birthday party for her and she loved it.  Here are some pictures from the party and her celebrations that went on for a week...

Camille was among the first of our guests to arrive.

Caroline and Goddie (Sara, Caroline's Godmother) shared cupcakes at the park!

I am 38 weeks pregnant today and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our son, Thompson.  I can safely say we are all excited to welcome Thompson into the world!  Caroline has been most fascinated with my belly (and hers) saying hi to the baby and lifting my shirt to reveal the large pale belly at the most inconvenient times.  If you have witnessed this, I am truly sorry!  Caroline also rubs her belly and says "Feel Baby kicking!"  I am hoping once Thompson arrives that behavior will end. :)

Mommy, Caroline and Rita on a walk hoping to induce labor :)
Daddy and Molly came too!
